ENTREPRENEURIAL MIND: A START UP!

The only constant in this world is change. Every day, we encounter new people, we hear the release of new products, and we see developments and birth of new phenomena we never knew. Every day we face new challenges just like what we are suffering right now because of this pandemic. How did we survive efficiently on these changes and challenges?  For me, the answer is ENTREPRENEURSHIP.

Joseph Schumpeter, an economist, stated that entrepreneurs are people who produce goods not only for personal profit but also for the good of everyone around them. They are the backbone of the economy. They are problem solvers who find opportunities from adversities. Entrepreneurs find joy and self-fulfillment in making things happen through innovations and they have a strong need for achievement. People like them aid us in surviving our everyday lives with efficiency and more economical productivity.

On my senior high school days, we made unique innovations on foods, crafts, and simple things. I experienced making and selling our own products on school and cluster expos. But, with the situation we are facing right now, we have to do more than food creativity. Technology is NOW. This is the time wherein we need more creations like Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Lazada, and more of the online stuff. We have to ideate base on the current situations to contribute new tools that are going to be useful for the people. As future entrepreneurs, we have to help in making the insufficient sufficient. We have to make the “there is none” to “there is”. Being aware of what the consumer needs in connection with what we are good at and passionate about is a great way to start it with.

It may be hard and we don’t really have a fixed path and destination but it’s worth it and it’s definitely going to be fun. Some things might not work for others as it works for us. So, it is fine to make mistakes and ask for help from the team; helping each other won’t make us less anyway. We have to get out of our comfort zone, wander around, and talk with other people aside from our friends. New learning, new skills, and self-development should be one of our driving forces. Only we can make us or break us. If we’re not going to do it, we’ll never learn anything from it. As a future entrepreneur, I am now fastening my seatbelt as I welcome more discoveries and opportunities on my way!
